Earth, Moon & Sun

We have been learning about planets.

On our second question today in science we had to give a reason why the earth and moon orbits the sun and the sun doesn't orbit the earth?

The planets, including the Earth, orbits the Sun.
The Earth spins on its axis-an imaginary line through the centre of the Earth once every day.

Explain why a person on Earth can see the Moon?
Light from the Sun is reflected by the rocky surface of the Moon, which makes the Moon shine at night and gives us 'moonlight'. This is why we can see the Moon.
