Christmas Celebrations!!

We've had such fun this week! Christmas party, a visit to the pantomime and carols round the tree! The disco was great, with lots of fab dancing and a few rounds of Gangnam Style!
 :-)

We saw Aladdin at the Muni, Pontypridd ....... oh yes we did! The children thoroughly enjoyed it and were so well behaved yet again. Wishy Washy was certainly one of their favourite characters.

60's Sue!

Well, what another treat we had on Friday! This time we had a visit from '60's Sue'!!

She talked about what life was like during the 60's. We learnt a little bit about The Cold War and about The Space Race between America and Russia.

We had a chance to listen to some music by The Beatles and we also learnt a few dance moves!!

60's Sue also talked about the fashion of the time and a few children were lucky enough to try things on.

Yet again, the children were very well behaved, listened carefully and asked some excellent questions!

Mr Francis' Visit

What a treat we had today!!

Mr Francis came into school to talk to class 6 and class 7 about what daily life was like in Llanharry during World War 2. The children listened ever so well, as Mr Francis told them stories about children who had been evacuated, air raid shelters, the local ARP warden and much, much more!

The children were then able to look at many photographs and had the opportunity to ask Mr Francis a range of questions. A thoroughly enjoyable morning ..... BIG thank you to Mr Francis!

The Choir sing in Llandaff Cathedral

Today the school choir took part in a Festival of Music in Llandaff Cathedral.  Over the past few weeks, they have been working really hard to learn a range of new songs, including a welsh one. The children sang beautifully, were very well behaved and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

We all wore our pyjamas to school today and raised £176.20 for Children in Need. Thank you and well done everyone!

We went on a trip to the Swansea 1940s Experience,

Girls Allowed! Year 5 and 6 girls LOVE reading!!

  The girls chose a scene from Romeo and Juliet and created a 'Freeze Frame'.
